threatened and endangered

Last week the forest service gave us 200 leafy prairie clover plants. Generally we are done planting by this time in the summer but they ordered these very late. Also the plant itself happens to be endangered/threatened in the state of Illinois so the exception is made.  Safe to say its kind of special and the reason we will be watering it for the next two weeks.

West Bend Cache Bash

We went to west bend, Wisconsin last weekend for the 6 th annual cache bash.  There are said to be over 1100 caches within 10 miles of the city.

snakes alive



 
Largest snake we have found thus far here at midewin.  Looked like it only has half its eye sight after some sort of encounter.  That made it an easy catch for us.

This guy tried to outrun me after work. I won.

I found this guy wandering a maze of asphalt in search of water.  He was pretty dry so I helped him along his journey.
